Chief Operating Officer

Dr Ruth Mallors-Ray was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) in September 2014, assuming responsibility for the day to day operations and Stakeholder Engagement. Prior to this, Ruth was the Director of the Aerospace, Aviation and Defence Knowledge Transfer Network, a Technology Strategy Board Programme. During her tenure Ruth established a UK R&D network across Aerospace and made a significant contribution to securing and setting up the Aerospace Technology Institute.

Malcolm Scott
Corporate Development Officer

Malcolm was appointed corporate development officer of the Aerospace Technology Institute in September 2014, with responsibility for relations with the UK government and European institutions. Previously, Malcolm was a civil servant in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills where he worked on a wide variety of economic issues, including almost nine years on aerospace questions. Malcolm’s last major assignment before joining the ATI was on secondment to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as consul-general in Düsseldorf and head of UK Trade and Investment in Germany. He holds a MA from St Andrews University, and a MBA from Imperial College.

Chief Technology Officer

Dr Simon Weeks was appointed as Chief Technology Officer of the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) in September 2014, assuming responsibility for technology leadership of the ATI. Prior to joining the institute, Simon spent most of his professional career in Rolls-Royce, most recently as Head of Aerospace Research & Technology leading the global research and technology programme for future jet engines for Rolls-Royce.
