HCN launches interactive Network Map of hydrogen facilities, training, and research

Rebecca Shaw, Technology and Strategy Analyst the ATI’s Hydrogen Capability Network, introduces the HCN’s network map for facilities, training, and research.

The ATI’s Hydrogen Capability Network (HCN) is growing a hydrogen in aerospace community to develop the UK’s capabilities as part of the mission to secure a competitive advantage for UK aerospace. Our activities include coordinating skills to increase cryogenic talent across the UK, linking test infrastructure to allow for greater collaboration and coordinating the UK’s research landscape around cryogenic hydrogen. One initiative that supports our activities is the HCN’s interactive Network Map, which is now live here.

The Network Map showcases training courses, research projects, and facilities across the UK which are related to cryogenic hydrogen in aerospace. The map is populated with submissions from users across the community and is maintained by the HCN team. Through the network map, users can browse:

  • Hydrogen facilities and infrastructure projects which are available to access now or are planned to open in the future.
  • Training opportunities ranging from hydrogen fundamentals to cryogenic fuel systems and propulsion.
  • Research projects taking place in the UK across academia and industry.

It is intuitive and easy to browse by location or interest, with links and filters which can help identify the most suitable opportunities or projects to the user. The map is continually being expanded and linked with new facilities, opportunities and projects. A recent update has included a wide range of new opportunities and information. We encourage users from across our community to keep the Network Map up to date with their own submissions or suggested edits. Submissions will be reviewed periodically by the HCN team before being added to the network map.
