We are looking for a highly capable Advanced Technologist to join our Systems and Propulsion team.

Reports to the Head of Technology Systems and Propulsion
Leading the development of the ATI’s Systems Virtual Validation Platform modelling
Supports the development and regular update of assigned areas of the ATI’s integrated UK Aerospace Technology Strategy and associated technology roadmaps
Working with ATI stakeholders to develop strategies, plans and programme proposals for assigned areas of strategy
Evaluating the technical benefits and working with CoS team to establish economic impact of proposed ATI programmes as part of the proposal development process
Support the development of relationships with UK companies and the academic community to support the activities of the ATI and strengthen and grow UK capability.
Support the development of technology communities through organisation of appropriate committees, events etc. for UK companies, academia and relevant national technical committees
Supporting the development of ATI international technology relationships and profile through participation in appropriate international technical committees and conferences
Supporting showcasing opportunities to publicise the successes of aerospace technology programmes.

Qualifications/Experience

Degree qualified in Engineering, Mathematics or Physical Sciences
Demonstrate consistent achievement in aerospace technology and may be active in the community through membership of relevant industry committees and/or publication and conferences.
Will have an in-depth knowledge and capability in one or more of the following areas of technology, preferably gained through working in the area:
- Complex electronic and mechanical systems, digital wireless and wired communications
- Safety critical control systems & software
- System integration & component testing, with advanced diagnostics
- Vehicle/Sub-system Health & Usage Monitoring
- Modelling/simulation of complex systems
May have led the definition of technology/research activities.
Preferably familiar with technology road mapping techniques and associated tools
May have led research and technology projects in industry or in academia
May demonstrate a working knowledge of government funding for research & technology programmes
Preferably used to working in collaborative technology programmes with multiple partners.
