Events Manager

The Events Manager is part of the Corporate Development team, reporting to the Head of Communications. They will be responsible for managing and delivering events of varying size and standing, ensuring they run smoothly and successfully, fall within budget, and are in line with business requirements. The Events Manager will work within the Communications team and across the ATI in a collaborative manner, playing a role in furthering the development of the Institute. The role requires travel to ATI’s London office and to events held in venues away from the Cranfield office. This role is available on an initial 12 month fixed-term basis.

About the role

Key areas of responsibility are as follows:

Event management and delivery

  • Managing all aspects of events to ensure successful outcomes – including liaising with internal teams to identify events needs, inviting attendees, follow-up and evaluation
  • Overseeing the development and delivery of events, from proposal stage onwards
  • Producing detailed proposals, including timelines, required resources and budgets and agreeing these with colleagues
  • Securing venues, planning room/venue layouts and branding
  • Scheduling workshops, seminars, demonstrations, etc.
  • Reporting regularly and openly to management
  • Overseeing set-up and disassembly of events, clearing the venue efficiently
  • Ensuring that insurance, legal and health and safety obligations are adhered to for all events

Supplier management

  • Coordinating and overseeing suppliers and contractors

Operations

  • Any other duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Communications and/or the Corporate Development Officer

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience in project management
  • Certified in, or working towards, a recognised project management qualification – such as Prince2
