Senior Technologist - Whole Aircraft (12 month FTC)

We are looking for a highly capable Technologist to join our Whole Aircraft team (up to Senior Technologist level).

This role reports to the Head of Technology – Whole Aircraft and is a 12 month FTC.

Support the development of whole aircraft modelling approaches and toolset in the ATI to provide a critical whole aircraft technical and economic assessment capability
Develop aircraft systems models using the ATI toolset
Assess the technical and economic benefits of technologies from ATI programmes using the ATI whole aircraft models
Support the development of the whole aircraft aspects of the integrated ATI technology strategy
Support and lead elements of the UK whole aircraft and aerodynamics technology communities through appropriate committees, events etc. for UK companies, academia and relevant national technical committees
Support the assessment of ATI Programme funding applications in partnership with UK Government departments and agencies

Professional qualities

Degree qualified in Engineering, Mathematics or Physical Sciences and will be working in a professional role.

Demonstrate competence in one or more of the following:

Aircraft conceptual design and use of aircraft conceptual design tools and techniques
Aerodynamics, or related discipline (e.g. aeroelastics)
Aircraft systems architectures and weights
Aircraft engine performance
Civil aircraft economics
Competence in MATLAB is desirable
