Innovative Aerodynamic Design Solutions for High-Performance Tiltrotor Aircraft (HiPerTilt)
HiPerTilt, led by Leonardo Helicopters in collaboration with the Universities of Liverpool/Glasgow and Bristol, supported the development of aerodynamic models, processes, techniques and new design / products towards the design and development of next generation tiltrotor aircraft in the UK.
The ATI- approved project focussed on the development and validation of numerical aerodynamic tools for the modelling of tiltrotor aircraft configurations. These simulations included modelling of complex rotor wakes in isolation and for full aircraft configurations with airframe interactions.
