Fixed Trade Calculator

The Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) has, and will continue to develop an in-house aircraft performance modelling capability. To-date, this has been used to support the ATI’s strategic project assessment process, and on an ad-hoc basis, to support discussions at a whole aircraft level around the benefits of new technologies.

To improve access to this whole aircraft capability, the Institute’s Whole Aircraft team has developed a web-based calculator. The Fixed Trade Calculator will increase the UK aerospace community’s access to simplified trade-off study capabilities.

The Fixed Trade Calculator will inform discussion and support decision making, by providing users with the fuel burn benefits, operating cost changes, and environmental impact in terms of CO2 for new technologies.

The Calculator enables assessment of the impact of novel technologies on representative conventional narrow, and, wide-bodied aircraft. It quantifies the impact of changes in weight, drag or thrust specific fuel consumption of the aircraft into which the technologies may be installed.

The Fixed Trade Calculator will be launching soon. Once launched, registered users will be able to access the Calculator, as well as support and on-line training materials.

You can register your interest for access to the Fixed Trade Calculator now.

The ATI will store and process certain data related to user applications and tool usage – please refer to the ATI Fixed Trade Calculator Data Protection and Handling Statement for information. You will need to consent to the use and storage of your data and agree to the ATI Fixed Trade Calculator Terms of Use before your request can be considered.
