The ATI Programme is open to any UK company or collaboration that meets the funding requirements and fits the scope of the UK Aerospace Technology Strategy.
Recognising the diversity of organisations that need to engage in research and technology development, the ATI has worked with partners Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and Innovate UK to offer several routes into the programme.
Four competitive funding batches per year overseen by BEIS, the ATI and Innovate UK. Involves a comprehensive 2-stage assessment process suited to larger programmes typically accessing grants in excess of £1m.
Themed Collaboration R&D Competitions
This funding initiative was launched at Farnborough in July 2018. It will adopt a staged approach, similar to that of the Strategic Programme, with several funding calls expected over a two year period. Total available grant funding will be £20m across the various calls. The scope is a mixture of fast track short-term projects and more speculative long-term projects, as well as feasibility studies for ideas in early gestation. ATI has produced a prioritised list of technology themes for both near- and long-term projects.
Small Projects: NATEP
The National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme (NATEP) is funded by the ATI Programme. NATEP offers a maximum £150K grant for projects, with regular funding batches and a selection process suited to smaller businesses.
