Head of Technology – Strucutures, Manufacturing and Materials Alex Hickson and Matt Bailey, Lead Technologist joined the Additive Insight podcast by TCT to reflect on the progress made in additive manufacturing in the UK and to preview the upcoming UK aerospace technology strategy soon to be released by the Aerospace Technology Institute.
The ATI’s Additive Manufacturing (AM) strategy and roadmap set out an ambitious vision for an order of magnitude growth by 2030 in the number of flying AM parts delivered by a complete end-to-end UK supply chain. Alex Hickson and Matthew Bailey joined the Additive Insights podcast to discuss the progress that has been made in delivering the strategy and roadmap since its publication in 2024 and the progress of key initiatives including the AM Community of Practice. The discussion also previewed the upcoming ATI technology strategy, exploring the size of the economic opportunity and the challenges of delivering sustainable aerospace.
