Karun is the Innovation Associate at the ATI and works across both the Innovation and ATI Strategic Programme teams.
Karun supports start-ups and SMEs in the UK aerospace sector through the ATI Hub and leads the ATI’s Advanced Air Mobility engagement – ensuring alignment across the sector with investors, experts and academics and market expertise. Karun also leads the ATI Framework Agreement, a fully digital process designed to enable applicants to engage with the ATI, access funding and protect their IP throughout the programme.
Since joining the ATI, Karun has contributed to a company-wide business transformation effort and developed key Lean strategies increasing the efficiency of crucial processes, allowing the ATI to provide a better service for its stakeholders.
Karun holds an MEng in Aeronautical Engineering and was previously an Aerospace Innovation Executive at ADS Group, London, the premier aerospace trade association in the UK where he was responsible for facilitating a c-suite network of 200 of the UK’s largest Aerospace companies engaged in Advanced Air Mobility and Aerospace 4.0.
Notable experiences include contributing to the UK Net-Zero Action Plan – an initiative that went on to be presented to the Jet Zero Council, and qualifying over £20 million in eligible R&D Tax Credits for SMEs and small businesses across the fintech and engineering sectors at a start-up boutique.
