Lead Technologist: Advanced Systems & Propulsion

Kiran joined the ATI in October 2020 as Lead Technologist for Systems. He works within the Advanced Systems and Propulsion team and leads on a number of systems topics including avionics, landing systems, sensors, prognostics and health monitoring systems, power electronics, machines and drives, and autonomous systems.

Kiran started his career at Collins Aerospace (a unit of Raytheon Technologies) in Plymouth, UK where he spent close to 12 years in the design and development of MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical-systems) inertial sensors for defence and commercial applications. His experience spans several areas including technology strategy, technology and product development, team management, project leadership and management, problem solving, IP administration, innovation management and developing external interfaces.

Kiran has a multi-disciplinary educational background with a BEng in Electronics and Communications Engineering from PES Institute of Technology, India and a PhD in Mechanical and Systems Engineering from Newcastle University, UK. He is currently finishing his MBA from Warwick Business School. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the IET.
